Fall Registration Closes September 1st
Recreational Gymnastics
Gymnastics is all about having fun, getting fit, and learning fundamental skills which promote flexibility, strength and balance. General gymnastics teaches children how to safely move around on several apparatus, varying body positions, speed, and height. General gymnasts do not participate in the intense strength and flexibility training which is part of the competitive program. Our recreational programs are suitable for children of all ages and body types.
A Letter from our Head Rec Coach
and New Program at WGC
Welcome back to WGC!
We are having a busy summer, as we welcome over 100 kids into our summer camps and classes. Although we can't wait to tumble back into the gym this fall. As many of you know our Head Rec coach has been busy working on our WAINWRIGHT FOUNDATIONS (WF) all year and it's finally ready! This program is replacing our old report card system but have no fear it still has the important skills but with some modifications. When doing gymnastics it's very important we work on techniques, enhancing strength and flexibility, and working on coordination so Wainwright Foundations will have all this plus of course making sure your child has a positive experience here at WGC. Wainwright Foundation (WF) moving forward we will be trying our best to be grouping kids by age NOT ability. When registering your child please be mindful of the age requirements!
The next change is your child at the end of the session will be coming home with a certificate that has a list of skills and techniques they have been working on as well as a coaches comment area. When your child has completed the required skills you will receive an email from us, instructing you to register for the next level in the next session.
We are very excited about introducing Wainwright Foundations this season. Please know that the goal for it is that your child will be continuously challenged to his/her abilities but in a positive way. Our goal here is that your child is having fun, while being active, and learning the fundamentals of gymnastics.
If you have any questions please visit our FAQ section or email us! Our Head Rec Coach will be in the gym August 6,13, and 20 from 9am to 2pm if you want to drop by and see her to ask questions.
Have a great rest of your summer and get ready for registration opening August 7th!

FAQ ABOUT THE WAINWRIGHT FOUNDATIONS CLASS
My child is on the same level, and did not pass the first session. Why aren't they progressing?
- There is a lot more to each level then the previous CANGYM Program, so it won't be uncommon for it to take a couple more sessions than before. We do not want to rush the skills and developmental portion as they are there to set your child up for success in the next level. If you have questions or concerns please reach out.
How can I see or know if my child is progressing?
- We will still be continuously skill testing throughout the sessions. You will be able to see your child's progress on your jack rabbit account online. This will be updated half way through and at the end of the session.
Why aren't we doing report cards like before with testing?
- Gymnasts are being tested and evaluated everywhere. We know and understand as parents we like to see how our children are progressing, that is why you will be able to see it online! We are moving from report cards and into certificates as a way to help boost confidence , keep it fun, and a positive experience for all.
